Lance Collins was a legendary surfboard designer & shaper who changed to Surf industry with his innovative designs, bold graphics and unapologetic personality.

Started in 1969 in Newport Beach, Wave Tools surfboards was iconic and paved the way for many to follow. The names Echo Beach and Wave Tools had become synonymous with the most progressive surfing of the time. Danny Kwock, Preston Murray and Jeff Parker, among others, were some of the brightest stars in California surfing & beyond, and Lance was the master craftsman behind the surfboards they were riding, all hand made in Newport Beach. Throughout the 80's, his son Richie Collins was a top professional surfer on the ASP (WSL) global stage who catapulted the name into stardom with his aggressive style and contest winning streaks solidifying the name forever into the history books.
